Custom Software Development
Outcomes
Software that matches how you work
, rather than a process reshaped around a vendor's assumptions.
No per-seat cost growth
You own it, so scaling users does not scale licensing.
Integration with what you already run
, rather than another disconnected system.
Code you can hand to anyone
Documented, tested, in mainstream technology, with no dependency on us to maintain it.
What we build
Internal tools and operational systems, customer-facing applications and portals, workflow and approval systems, integration layers between systems that were never designed to talk, and replacements for spreadsheets that have quietly become business-critical.
We work in TypeScript, Python, Node, React, Next.js and Postgres by default — mainstream, well-supported technology you can hire for. We use something else when there is a real reason, not a fashionable one.
How it works
Discovery and scoping, then delivery in two-week increments with working software at the end of each. You see progress continuously rather than at a reveal. Testing, documentation and deployment are part of the build, not a phase that gets cut when time runs short.
Typical first release is eight to sixteen weeks depending on scope.
Where this applies
Strongest where the process is a competitive advantage, where no product fits, or where the cost of adapting to one exceeds the cost of building.
Weakest where a mature product already does most of what you need. Configuring an existing tool is faster, cheaper and lower risk, and we would rather tell you that than take the project.
How we scope and price
Fixed scope and fixed price per phase, quoted after discovery. Larger projects are broken into phases so you can stop, change direction or take it in-house at any boundary. All code, infrastructure and documentation are yours from the first commit.
Frequently asked questions
Buy unless the process is genuinely differentiating or genuinely unserved. Custom software carries ongoing maintenance that product licensing hides. We assess this honestly during scoping, including the option that concludes with no project.
Driven by scope, integration count, and whether it is user-facing. Quoted fixed after discovery rather than estimated in advance — an estimate given before understanding the problem is a number, not a quote.
You do, entirely, from day one. Source, infrastructure and documentation.
Then you should be able to, which is why we use mainstream technology and document properly. Building in a way that requires us is a business model we would rather not have.
Yes, as an optional retainer. Optional is the operative word.
You see working software every two weeks. If it is going wrong, you will know early enough to change course.
More Engineering services
Web Development
Fast, accessible, server-rendered websites and web applications — built so search engines and AI assistants can actually read them.
Mobile App Development
iOS and Android applications built cross-platform where it makes sense and native where it doesn't — including the store process and post-launch reality.
Product & UX Design
Interface and product design grounded in how people actually use software — with design systems built for engineers to implement, not just to look at.
